Student Success Story: From Dull, Thin Hair to Shiny Hair with Defined Curls and Reduced Shedding!
Welcome to our latest Student Success Story! Today we are celebrating Isabelle who joined The 14 Day Haircare Challenge suffering with dull hair that would fall out easily. Read her story here:
What hair problems did you struggle with before you joined the 14 Day Challenge?
I had a lot of breakage and scalp irritation that was causing a lot of hair fall and my hair went from being fairly wavy and curly to not being able to hold a curl for more than a day over the past 2 years without warning. I never had heat or colour damage so it was frustrating as I couldn't tell if I was doing something wrong or if I was stuck with my hair being that way forever. My hair was always important to me so it was a confidence killer to see it looking so thin and dull.
What made you decide to join? Do you remember the particular moment when you made the decision to do this for yourself?
I saw the ad come up on Instagram and since they were doing a sale I figured there wasn't anything to lose, at the very least I was sure I'd learn something and hopefully be closer to figuring out what to do about my hair
What results have you seen since implementing the learnings?
My hair has more shine, some of my curls seem to be coming back and my hair overall seems on the road to recovery and now that I have a bigger understanding of how sensitive my scalp is and what not to use on it, that's helped quite a lot with the shedding. Half way through the challenge I did a big chop to get rid of all the breakage because I was fairly competent that with my own knowledge I could grow it back fast and that with the hair challenge knowledge I would this time be able to actually maintain the results.
What areas of the 14 Day Challenge made the biggest difference for you? How did it feel having a community to be part of?
The community was a nice aspect because everyone helps each other out and offers support so for those who are really feeling down about their hair, it makes you feel less alone and that it's something everyone struggles with. The part of the challenge I appreciated the most was learning about all the ingredients to avoid and the differences between different types of silicones, because a big part of my issue was scalp irritation, it gave me a good starting point of what to cut out.
What is the next goal/milestone you would like to reach with your hair?
For now it's to grow my hair below the waist and most importantly retain the length and avoid breakage. I'm also trying my best to focus on keeping my scalp as healthy and as little irritated as possible by being super careful with what I use on it, and of course I'm continuing trying to get all my curls to come back which is all happening slowly but surely.
It is so exciting to see how far Isabella has come over the last 14 Days! She has made so many amazing changes to her routine and lifestyle that have already made such huge improvements to her hair. We cannot wait to see her achieve her goal of having waist length hair! It is going to look beautiful!
