If You’re Struggling with Dandruff, Read This!
Dandruff is one of those pesky bothersome things most of us deal with at one point in our lives. You’ve tried everything, all the drugstore products, and even some high-end brands, but the problem comes back over and over again.
It’s not such a big deal, it’s certainly not a life-threatening illness, but it’s bothersome enough and it can get embarrassing! It sure is hard to be confident and put your best foot forward when you worry about your scalp looking messy or finding flakes in your hair…

One of the main reasons this condition persists is because each and every one of us is unique and our scalps require different care.
Many times, it’s not just about the product we pick up, but how we use it!
In the case of dandruff, prolonged attentive care is needed to finally eliminate these annoying flakes from your life! In many cases, dandruff forms on an oily scalp that doesn’t breathe properly, so it becomes itchy and the skin flakes up.
This is not because of poor hygiene!
We all get embarrassed by the sight of flakes on a dark T-shirt, but keep in mind that this is a skin condition and not a sign of frumpiness. So, how do we fight dandruff? Join our 14-Day Haircare Challenge and you will learn the proper way of hair care and prevent dandruff and other hair problems!
Am I doing the treatment right?
Take a look at the shampoo you are using! Most of the anti-dandruff products have a treatment method indicated by the makers of the shampoo. Are you washing your hair according to their recommendations?
Many anti-dandruff shampoos are supposed to be used daily which can be a hassle, but for the sweet release from the itching and flakiness, it’s our number one recommendation to try your best and follow through with your product! It’s not just a marketing ploy to wash daily or every other day! Eliminating dandruff is a long process.
Is this product right for me?
Many chemicals in hair care products have several effects on our hair. Most anti-dandruff shampoos have a high pH level! Many of us experienced the fact that products meant to get rid of dandruff flatten our hair, give us no volume, no shine, or any other beneficial results.
It is important to have a pH-balanced routine! So, if you are using a high pH level shampoo, try pairing it with a low pH conditioner that matches your hair’s needs!
If your hair is oily, try pairing it with a conditioner that contains panthenol. If your hair is dry and has many split ends, look for a pH-balancing conditioner with fatty alcohols in it!
Keep in mind that there is a lot of trial and error when you are trying to find your perfect product, many chemicals are just not meant for your hair type!
If you're running out of option then it’s time to visit a doctor!
Even though dandruff is not a serious illness, a dermatologist can certainly offer you stronger products with more balanced chemicals, and you can hear a professional’s opinion about your hair type!
You might think your scalp is dry because of the itchiness, but it is actually quite oily and you’ve been using the wrong type of product! So, seeking a professional’s opinion is always a good idea!
Been there, done that?
Doctors are specialists in their field and because of that some of them take a very narrow look at your problem. Dandruff and many other scalp issues can be caused by issues unknown to scalp specialists.
